We go on a trip every summer, but this year was supposed to be different. I had planned to spend my vacation in Finland and just enjoy the Finnish summer. That changed pretty quickly when Autumn told me she and her husband are going to come to Europe in July. We’re meeting up later this week in the eternal city to explore it together! I’ve never been to Italy even though I’ve wanted to forever.
I’ve researched a little and here’s my bucket list for Rome so far:
- Seeing the Colosseum If you’ve seen the movie Gladiator, it’s probably on your list, right?!
- Walking the streets of Trastevere Trastevere is supposed to be a beautiful, medieval neighborhood in the heart of Rome.
- Trying a different flavor of gelato every day
When I lived in the Netherlands, there was an amazing gelato store around the corner from where I lived. The stuff was to die for and the whole thing escalated quickly towards an addiction… I can only imagine what it tastes like in its home country!
- The Pantheon
The building is 2000 years old – enough said.
- Eating a huge amount of pasta
Al fresco, of course! I’ve heard so many amazing stories about the pasta in Italy, so this is a must. I love the Italian style of cooking – no frills, just amazing ingredients, prepared in a simple way.
- The Vatican
Queuing isn’t my favorite thing, but apparently the museums are worth it.
I’d love to read any tips and recommendations!
Here’s what I’d love to wear strolling the streets of Rome.
